Embark on a fascinating journey through the 20th century and see how the development of technology changed the way in which we get, prepare, process, and store food.

Follow the changes that have an impact on your everyday life: from water carriers to hot tap water and dishwashers, from ice boxes to refrigerators, from coal stoves to gas and electric hobs, from a spurtle to blenders…

At the exhibition, you will:

• learn how people used to get food in socialist Poland;
• peek into traditional marketplaces, supermarkets, and the ergonomic Frankfurt kitchen;
• pack your groceries to the trusted string bag known as the anużka;
• discover when preservatives and artificial additives found their way to food;
• see appliances and devices that have transformed out kitchens;
• be reminded of how a home-made pie made in an electric baking pan tasted like;
• smell the coffee from the Kawex espresso machine;
• appreciate EDA, the first Polish dishwasher, but also give a sentimental look to the Ludwik dishwashing liquid;
• get to know the Bartek food processor, which was a technological marvel back in the 1970s;
• be enthralled by Polish design from the socialist era.
