HOW

1. Strike the individual stone tiles one by one.
2. Listen to how they sound.
3. See how the sound produced depends on where it is struck.
4. Find the relationship between the size of the tile and the pitch of the resulting sounds.

WHY

The struck stone is induced to vibrate. This is the source of the sound wave that propagates through the air and reaches your ears. The smaller the stone, the higher the sound it makes.
