Feel the energy of science! Discover, experience and have fun in the 19th season of the Garden of Experiences!

The Stanisław Lem Experimental Garden at al. Pokoju 68 in Krakow

The Stanisław Lem Experimental Garden– a unique branch of the Museum of Engineering and Technology – is proud to announce that this year’s season will run from 20 April to 11 October 2026. Instead of boring lectures, interactive challenges await you here, proving that physics, mechanics and optics are pure fun!

Two new attractions this season!

According to tradition, a new season brings new challenges. This year, we have prepared two brand-new exhibits for our visitors:

  • Plane after plane – this is a station that will allow everyone to experience the force of gravity in practice. Visitors’ task is to guide a ball through a system of planes with varying inclines. It’s the perfect opportunity to observe how a change in angle affects the acceleration and energy of a rolling object.
  • The Levitating Ball – a device that, at first glance, defies the laws of physics. Thanks to a hand-cranked turbine, a stream of air is created in which the ball literally ‘hovers’ in mid-air. This is a fascinating lesson on the balance of forces and Bernoulli’s principle, explaining why the ball remains inside the air stream and does not fall to the side.

Discover a world full of experiences:

Looking for the perfect weekend getaway? As well as the new attractions, our garden features over a hundred well-known and much-loved installations spread across several themed zones.

Here’s what we’ve prepared for you:

· A Science Gym where, racing over a 25-metre distance, you can check your fitness and test your reaction time.

· The Optics Zone for lovers of visual puzzles.

· The Acoustics Zone for sound enthusiasts, where they’ll find, among other things, voice tubes and wind gongs.

· Sand Planet, which will appeal especially to the youngest explorers – the most wonderful sandpit in the galaxy awaits them there.

· Supercool playground – featuring a 6-metre rocket with several slides – also for younger explorers.

· The Planetarium, meanwhile, offers 3D film screenings for those hungry for cosmic thrills.

Take part in unique picnics to explore the magic of the Garden’s themed zones!

10 May | Sunday

Picnic – Discover the secrets of the Magnetism zone, learn about eddy currents and find out how a magnetic field is created.

31 May | Sunday

Picnic – Let your eyes deceive you in the Optics Zone, testing Newton’s discs and amazing mirror effects.

5 July | Sunday

Picnic – An aromatic journey through the ‘Scent’ zone, where you can spark your imagination with the scents of herbs and flowers.

2 August | Sunday

Picnic – Test your strength at the Science Gym and find out how much you weigh on other planets using the “Space Strongman” machine.

13 September | Sunday

Picnic – A symphony of physics in the Acoustics zone; play the wind gongs and see how sound waves travel.
