Set up the pins however you like, then try to knock down as many as you can by throwing or rolling the ball. Test whether it’s better to aim straight at the center or slightly to the side. Adjust the force and direction of your throw and watch the results.
WHY
A ball in motion carries kinetic energy, which depends on its mass and speed. Because speed is squared in the energy equation, even a small increase in speed leads to a much higher level of kinetic energy.
Upon impact, the ball transfers its energy and momentum to the pins, causing them to move, tumble, and hit each other. The outcome is determined not just by the power of the throw, but also by the ball’s direction and point of contact. Occasionally, a perfectly placed hit creates a chain reaction that knocks over many pins simultaneously.
