Sculpture

HOW

1. Press part of your body, or your whole body, into a board with metal pins.
2. See what has been created on both sides of the board. Conduct observations from different angles. Try to create a sculpture by moving the pins accordingly.

WHY

When you look at a given pin exactly straight ahead, you only see the tip of the pin. You do not know then how far it protrudes. It is only by looking at it from the right angle that more detail can be observed.

Note that each pin reproduces information only for a certain area of the surface that falls on it. The more pins there are in a given area, the more details of the recreated shape can be observed. Breaking down information into portions is an extremely helpful procedure in most fields of study. It allows fast and efficient analysis of gathered experimental data.
